When this web page was started, we
only knew of relatives from 2 of Josephs Sons and vaguely knew portions of
another. In the past year, we have added hundreds of relatives from lost
branches and gained new knowledge of our history and heritage. The new
information is being added but it is volumes and a slow process. This "Tree
Page" is intended to be a simple sketch or diagram of descendents. Look to

Although, there has not been specific documents to prove that Oliver is
Jonathans Father it is believed to be the correct name. The question is, which
Oliver.

It is not known who or if he had siblings. It is assumed he did. They are
unknown at this time. Joseph moved his family to Canada about 1805, where he
raised them to adulthood.

The
following is a sketch of the family tree as it has progressed from the First Texas generation.
All of
Joseph & Mary's children were raised in Texas. However, Oscar was the
only one born in Texas. Until the past 20 years, most of Josephs descendents have been born or raised in Texas. However, Some have relocated
in other states, mostly California, Oregon, & Nevada. To my knowledge none
have ever gone back to Michigan. The
Houghton seeds have been planted and took root in many places. The tree
flourished and continues to produce many wonderful fruit.
The tree's structure today
can best be illustrated by separate colors for each generation of off-spring of the five
sons of Joseph. I Have numerically identified the five sons of Joseph & Mary

future of our family depends on the type and amount of nurturing it gets from
the roots to the new fruit. We as individuals, are a single
ring on each on their tree and must nurture each part if the tree
