The "Michigan" history begins about 1866 when Jonathan and some of his family moved to Michigan where they obtained land grants and established farms.  This occurred after Jonathans sons return from The US Civil War and most of his family made the move. Other family members either stayed in Illinois or moved to neighboring states.
